About the Program

The Police Orientation Preparation Program (POPP) offers a two-year associate degree in administration of justice. The program is designed for high school graduates who aspire to launch careers in first response and public service. Graduates of this program are highly sought after by employers such as LAPD, parks department, private security, detention officers, and sheriff’s deputies.

POPP has two campuses, one at the Ahmanson Recruit Training Center (ARTC) and one at Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC). All classes are taught by Los Angeles Community College District professors.
